I am not talking about Jesus as the theological or historical figure, but Jesus as the God-conscious mind in man. The God-conscious mind in man knows who he is in God and who God is in him. The God-conscious mind in man is master of itself and master of all its disciples, its mental disciplines, its functions, and its affairs.—Rev. Ike
Here is Part One of Rev. Ike’s twelve-course banquet of spiritual nourishment.
Lesson 1: Your Twelve Fold Divine Power Rev. Ike provides definitions of Jesus, and the mental aspects represented by each of the twelve disciples by name: Simon Peter; Andrew; James; John; Phillip; Bartholomew; Thomas; Matthew;. This introductory teaching wets the appetite for Rev. Ike’s individual discussion of each of the disciples in the subsequent lessons.
Lesson 2 – Disciple Simon Peter #1: Developing Right Hearing & Rock faith In esoteric science, the faculty of mind represented by the Disciple Simon Peter is the faculty of hearing, the faculty of the inner ear that is disciplined or discipled to hear God, to hear Good, to hear the Word of God, the Word of God therefore developing rock faith.
Lesson 3 – Disciple James #2: Developing Your Strength and Courage Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, is the second disciple called by Jesus, Andrew means manly, man of strength meaning that strength is a relative of faith. When rock faith—which is represented by Peter—is developed through right hearing—Simon—then strength and courage are called into action.
Lesson 4 – Disciple James #3: Your Power of Right Judgment James, the third disciple of Jesus, represents your mental quality called right judgment, Wisdom. The Lord’s servant must be blind to circumstantial evidence; the Lord’s servant must see that his good does not depend on circumstances. The Lord’s servant must not judge himself or anyone else according to the standards of the judgments of the world. Rev. Ike helps all of us quiet our judgmental minds in preparation to walk in true love.
Lesson 5 – Disciple John #4: Developing Your Power of Love There is no difficulty that enough Love will not conquer. There is no disease that enough Love will not heal; no door that enough Love will not open; no gulf that enough Love will not throw down; no sin that enough Love will not redeem. It makes no difference how deeply seated the trouble, how hopeless the outlook, how muddled the tangle, how, how great the mistake, a sufficient realization of Love will dissolve it all. If only you could love enough, would love enough, you would be the happiest, the most powerful person in the whole world.—Emmet Fox
Rev. Ike answers an important question in this powerful teaching: “What is it about a person am I supposed to love.”
Lesson 6 - Disciple Phillip #5: Developing Your Power of Knowing Philip represents the quality of power, represents the power of the Word, the power of expression. The work of the Disciple Phillip is to know and to understand the oneness and the relationship of the Father and the Son—I Am and Its expressions, cause and effect, the thought and the thing. Knowing this gives the power of expression, the power of manifestation and the power of demonstration.
This is an amazing, esoteric series.
